Christopher Columbus Brown was born 21 October 1834 in Athens, Sangamon County, Illinois; died 06 May 1904 in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois.  He married Mary Caroline Owsley 04 June 1872 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
They were buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield 

Christopher Brown, was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1858. In 1880-1900, the family resided in Springfield where Christopher Brown practiced law. See the obituary of C. C. Brown in "The Illinois State Register," 7-9 May 1904 and the Springfield "Journal" of 6 and 8 May 1904.
