Calvin Heaton and Margaret Evans
Calvin Heaton (1817-1868) was the son of William (1767-1849) and wife Martha Childs (1777-1860). He was grandson to William (1732-1814) and Irene King and therefore first cousin to my ggg grandfather Orange B. Heaton.
Records show him to be a wealthy Merchant / Farmer from Vermont with significant land holdings in Illinois.
On 24 Nov 1846 in Carrolton, Green, Illinois he married Margaret Jane Evans (1829-1904). They were parents to ~9 children last being born in 1868 just a few months before Calvin's death.
Records show that Margaret then on 02 July 1873 married the widower Orange B. Heaton (her deceased husband's first cousin) in Macoupin, Illinois. It was a brief marriage for Orange passed away in 1876.
