On Dec. 16, 1795. He married Jemima Stannard of Middlefield Conn, and they had 5 sons and a daughter. The youngest son, William (1811-1887) was my great grandfather. In 1808,traveling by horse back from Kil]ingworth to Genesee County, NY, Dr. Benjamin bought 448 acres of Unimproved land in Le Roy. In 1826 he bought another 160 acres and in 1828 he, his wife, and William the youngest son moved to Le Roy and settled on the 160 acres where he lived until he died in 1849. Since Le Roy and near by Pavilion, T.Y. saw a good deal of the Hills, some reference to the other children off Benjamin can be recorded: Albert (1797-1884) married Betsy Strickland of Windsor, Vt in 1824, . and she is noted as having smoked a white clay pipe. Albert also went to Le Roy on horseback in 1819 where he taught school during the next five winters, and between times worked on the land his father had bought, clearing timber and building a house and barn where he lived until 1853 then moved into Le Roy where he died. Charles Hill, another son (1799-1874) moved to LeRoy in 1821 and remained on the farm until his death.
