Minnie R Getman

1930 census also shows Emma Getman (Minnie's Mother) age 75 as
residing with them.
Minnie and her parents were all born in New
York. Her mother according
to census was born around 1855.
Minnie was born in 1881 in New York. She married Homer Frances
Horton, who was born 1 Sep 1880 in Iowa. They were parents of two
children Jane and John.
Aunt Minnie as we called her was a very close friend of my
Grandmother, who would come each year to stay 3 months or more while I
was growing up.
When she was younger she taught botany at Mt. Holyoke College.
But what I remember most about her was her poetry and her pastel
drawings of flowers.
Minnie passed away in 1979.
