Old Ormond Bridge

The Halifax river is really a salt water lagoon, part of Florida's vital intercoastal waterway. The lagoon was named in of honor of George Montagu Dunk, 2nd Earl of Halifax during mid 1700s.
Completed in 1887 this bridge joined the palmetto thatched sand dunes of the narrow eastern peninsula with the west mainland of thickly vegetated with tropical plants and Orange groves.
