Arbury Hall at Nuneaton, has been the home of the Newdigate family since 1578  This  family’s  ancestors originated fom Newdigate, in the county Surrey and were also those of Dorothea Poyntz.

Originally the house was a quadrangular Elizabethan house constructed on the site of an Augustinian monastery.  In the late 1740s Sir Roger Newdigate completely renovated the house leaving no room untouched.  Today the Hall is regarded as the “gothic gem” of the Midlands. The Hall contains a fine collection of both Oriental and Chelsea porcelain. The main rooms with their soaring fan vault ceilings and filigree tracery stand as a most breathtaking sight.
